Nepal draws 1-1 with Jordan at home ground

Nepal has drawn 1-1 against Jordan in the return leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asia Zone Qualifier held in Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. In the away match held in Jordan, Nepal had faced an embarrassing 9-0 defeat. Perhaps the wet conditions and the home ground advantage helped Nepal play better this time. With the World Cup qualifiers out of the way, now Nepal can focus on the SAFF Championships. The current coach Graham Roberts had made a bold statement saying that if Nepal plays the way it played against Jordan in the return leg, it can win the SAFF Championships. Based on its performance in the World Cup Qualifiers, Nepal is now ranked 135 in the world and the highest ranked in the SAARC region. Let's hope these are signs of improvement in Nepali football.
