Child labour in Nepal
Today is World Day Against Child Labour and Nepal is also celebrating it along with the rest of the world. According to a recent report by the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management, there are more than 600,000 Nepali children involved in hazardous jobs. While the government had initially set the target to end child labour to 2009, it has now revised and reset it to 2016, with complete elimination of child workers in 2020. How can we ordinary people help Nepal achieve this? Well, for starters we can sponsor the education of such children. It doesn't take an arm or leg to do so. Just miss a few beers or junk meals! So c'mon people, sponsor a child in 2011! Donations are tax-deductible :-)
