Samajhdari Ra Nepali Nari!

Samajhdari means mutual understanding in Nepali. It also refers to a radio program funded by the UN Trust fund to end violence against women that has been on air in Nepal since 2006 with a listener base of more than 1 million. According to the National Centre for AIDS and STD Control in Nepal, housewives constitute 74 percent of the total reported cases of HIV among women. A large number of them are also spouses of migrant workers or wives of clients to sex workers. Hence, samajhdari between them is a must to prevent HIV infections and Samajdhari tries to address these very issues. A praise worthy effort indeed!
