Nepal beats Timor-Leste 2-1

Nepal has beaten Timor Leste 2-1 in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup Asia Zone Qualifiers in Kathmandu today. Nepal currently ranked 147 in the world will play the away game against Timor Leste, ranked 200, again in Kathmandu on July 2. Assuming that they win this game as well, they face Jordan in the next round on July 23 and 28 in the next round. Jordan is ranked much higher than Nepal at 84 and will be a much tougher opponent to beat. Irrespective of the outcome, Nepal's soccer team is currently on a high after having qualified for the AFC Challenge Cup next year. Go Nepal!
