Nepal ranks poorly in Global IT Report 2010-11

ICT is a key precondition for enhanced competitiveness and economic and societal modernization of nations, as well as an instrument for bridging economic and social divide and reducing poverty. But the latest Global Information Technology Report 2010-11 has ranked Nepal 131 out of 138 based on its current state of ICT readiness. How can we then expect Nepal to make significant progress in the near future? What steps is the Nepal Government taking to improve this situation? Is the Government even aware of this report? One wonders!
