Man arrested in Nepal for performing last rites of living MPs

Rakesh Kumar Sharma of Bardia, Nepal has been arrested in Pokhara for performing the Shraddha, the death rites as per Hindu tradition in the names of the 601 Constituent Assembly (CA) members. Khanal had been performing the rites because the CA members have failed to draft the new Constitution on time and therefore he believes that their tenure in Parliament has expired. He has performed the death rites in Bardiya, Nepalgunj and Chitwan. This incident follows an earlier incident in which Devi Prasad Regmi slapped the current Prime Minister of Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal for the failure of Nepali politicians to form the new Constitution on time.
