China pledges NRs. 1.1 Billion Aid to Nepal Army

The Chinese government has pledged a financial assistance of about 1.1 billion rupees to the Nepal Army to establish a health institute and improve infrastructures in the existing medical institutions run by the army. This is the biggest aid ever committed by the northern neighbor to the Nepal Army. At present, the army operates two hospitals in Kathmandu - Birendra Sainik Hospital in Chauni and Tri-Chandra Military Hospital in Mahankal. It also has a medical center in Sallghari, Bhaktapur and medical units at each of its divisions, brigades, battalions and companies across the country.

This aid is good for the Nepal Army and for Nepal as a whole. What is going to be interesting is the response from our southern neighbour.
