Real Juice or not? Dabur Nepal in the news for the wrong reasons, again!

A few months back, Dabur Nepal was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Real worms were found in Real Juice and the Nepali media covered this incident extensively.

After the negative publicity in the Nepali media, the Indian Embassy and Rakesh Sood got involved, accusing the Nepali media of improperly posting the news about Dabur Nepal and Real Juice. This created a furore with the media accusing the Indian Government intervening in the internal affairs of Nepal.

In order to counter the negative publicity, Dabur Nepal got celebrities such as  Rajesh Hamal, Karishma Manandhar and Dipak Bista to advertise Real Juice. Today's Ekantipur online edition carries a report that Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the Real Juice factory under Dabur Nepal in Bara and sealed it today. The factory was sealed after the investigation team headed by the co-senior advocate found faults while investigating the packaging of the juice. Dabur has been found to be tampering with the modification and expiry dates of packaging.
It will be interesting to see how the Nepali media covers this incident and if the Indian Embassy again interferes with the handling of this incident!
