Consensus Government in Nepal soon!

It is almost 6 months since Madhav Kumar Nepal voluntarily resigned from the Prime Minister's post in Nepal. But Nepal is yet to see a new "Consensus Government" led by a new Prime Minister. According to this article in Ekantipur, Jhala Nath Khanal has told press reporters that a consensus government will be formed soon in Nepal.

He has said that "the political parties have narrowed down their differences and are nearing consensus on a new government." However, when asked by media person as to who would lead the soon-to-be-formed consensus government, the UML Chief replied "that hasn't been decided yet". But "the party leader of an able and suitable political party will lead the new government forging consensus".

Perhaps the UML Chief does not realize that the PM's Chair is the bone of contention and hence the political parties are nowhere near consensus on a new government. If we are to take Khanal's words literally i.e. the leader of an able and suitable political party will lead the new government, then perhaps, Nepal may never see a new Government led by a new Prime Minister in the near future. Consensus Government in Nepal soon! Dream on!
