Leaving Microsoft to Change the World / माइक्रोसोफ्टदेखि बाहूँ डांडासम्म

A decade ago, John Wood chose to walk away at the height of his corporate career at Microsoft to dedicate his life to a social cause. Trekking through Bahundanda in Lamjung Nepal, he struck up conversation with a schoolteacher, Pashupathi Neupane who invited John to visit his school. There, John discovered that the few books available were so precious that they were kept under lock and key to protect them from the children because fewer than 20 books were shared amongst more than 450 students.

Neupane told Wood that he did not have enough resources and added "Maybe you can help". This statement changed Wood's life and he started the Room to Read program which partners with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to girls.

His best seller Leaving Microsoft to Change is based on this incident and is also available in Nepali माइक्रोसोफ्टदेखि बाहूँ डांडासम्मBuy the book and your money will be donated to Room to Read!
