An estimated 10,000 girls trafficked from Nepal to India every year!

False promises lure Nepali women into sex trade, reports that an estimated 10,000 Nepali girls are trafficked across India's open border every year and sold for prostitution. Interpol estimates that there are more than 200,000 Nepali girls working in Indian brothels and trafficking is a multi-billion dollar industry. This is an astonishing figure which continues.

While enforcing existing laws and creating new laws to heavily punish the buying and selling of underage children is one way to lower the number of victims, this does not resolve the problem completely. Unless the Nepali government arranges for alternate ways and means of making money for women and families, Nepali girls and women will continue to land in Indian hellholes and trafficking will continue unabated.
