Professional Footballer - A new career possibility in Nepal!

After Anil Gurung and Sandeep Rai, Rohit Chand has become the third Nepali footballer to join the Indian League. He has joined second division club Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Bangalore for a year on a monthly pay of Rs. 1,28,000 with an added bonus of Rs. 10,000 per month if the club succeeds to stay in the league. Earlier Anil Gurung had joined Shillong Lajong for 3 years for a record contract of Rs. 6.3 million. Sandeep Rai joined Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkotta last month for 8 months for Rs. 1.2 million

Its good to see Nepali footballers getting better opportunities in the I-League given the current state of football in Nepal. Youngsters can hope for a better future if they excel in their chosen sport. Of course, at the moment only footballers are earning decent money while other sports are not. But let's hope that this changes in the future.
